  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

Queue up the drama. Here we go again!

Natural sunlight through the window on marbled chili shell. Not a great photo, but such a great leather.

A nice haul of Darn Tough socks recently picked up on the cheap: and yes I actually do run sometimes - did a rare 5 miles yesterday. You may also notice a few Easter eggs left by my 1-yr. old son.

So, can anyone describe the difference in the 511 last for the Leeds and the 2020 last for the Drake?

Slightly wider at the ball of the foot. Less shape and definition. It should have a higher cone but the padding inside the shoe robs it of that space. A little less throat. You might need an entire size up.

Nice, I got rid of the sloppy laces that came with too. I was shocked at how light the boots were. Also, the leather was very supple and easy to break in. With the experience of a couple of grain leather loafers and boots from C&J, I was expecting the opposite.

Yes, they are too light and I was quite surprised, as others have said I think that is largely due to the XL Lite sole. I don't like the weatherproof bit though, could have done without it. Makes the boot a bit too hot to wear in tropical weather of Singapore.
Also, on my pair leather on the left boot has a less pronounced grain and the leather on the right boot is much better and how it should be. As a result the left boot creases more than the right boot.

@Shoenut The Drake looks like it would fit me very comfortably. What's the construction like, and the insole?
Welted with a glued on outsole. Insole is padded with a glove liner.
