  • Epaulet x Styleforum Alpine Loden Collection

Loden wool, woven in Tirol for centuries, is known for its resistance to cold and wetness. Our project in collaboration with Epaulet introduces Alpine Loden, a modern 18oz fabric blend of 75% merino wool and 25% nylon, woven in Italy. It's lighter, more durable, wind-resistant, and more comfortable than traditional Loden fabric. Partnering with Rochester Tailored Clothing, we offer custom garments like sportcoats, suits, and overcoats, made to your specifications. Learn more about the Loden collection here.

You are both right - I misremembered the model name. These are actually called the Clifton, but are obviously not the more recent perf toe blucher incarnation also named the Clifton.

The backstory on the model and how another forum member (with expansive knowledge of vintage AE) helped me identify these can be found in the Vintage Shoe Thread:
I didn't know that AE had an earlier oxford version of the Clifton. I was trying to identify what they were also from the photo. The closest I found was the Van Ness, which is nearly identical--oxford, cap toe, full broguing, no medallion, etc--but the Van Ness is only a 5 eyelet shoe and that photo showed 6 eyelets. (And the Van Ness is missing the pinking.) I think I like the old Cliftons better...

come november ill have to make the hard decision on chilli vs burgundy shell for daltons
Or don't and buy both? Burgundy is underrated, but Chili is marvelous! Feel like the two are different enough to not compete with each other when putting together an outfit.
