any noticeable flaws?
I got mine as 2nds over a year ago when the Charleston outlet closed. On the left shoe, the moc stitching is just a touch off (it's not as rounded as the right shoe stitching) and the afore-mentioned lacing issue on the right foot rears its head from time-to-time. I can correct the lacing, when I bother to pay attention to it, and the very, very minor stitching issue on the left doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm sure if someone else looked at them, they might find something that bothers them. But, they're not wearing my boots.

I will say that these were my most-worn pair of AEs in 2022, and will most likely be in the top slot again this year, when all is said and done. Really, really, really like them. I like the look of the Higgins Mill more, but I've also got 3 pairs of those that I rotate through, and just this one Freeport. If the natty CXL version were at this price on Shoebank, I would have already bought it. I have no idea why this makeup is on such deep discount, but I think it's the best-looking stock makeup they have. Fits like a Higgins Mill and the sole is miles more comfortable than Dainite (and I have zero issues with Dainite sole comfort).

If you'd like a boot that gets you about 90% of the styling of an Alden Indy, but at about 1/4 of the price, this could be the one for you.

It's a Freeport kind of day. I wish I could say these were still on the Shoebank site at the ridiculous price of $199.97, but they're not any more. Instead, they're showing at $199.97, but you can apply a 20% off code that gets them to $159.97. Don't let my wonky lacing on the right shoe scare you away (I'll fix them later). These boots are awesome, and that price is kind of like stealing. Get on it, yo!

For real. $159.97.

Not sure if you saw that, but these boots are only $159.97.

How much? $159.97.

Buy them, you won't regret it.

Donkey, donkey, donkey. You are the worst. At that price I felt contractual obligated.

Order placed, though unfortunately it had to ship from the warehouse in Tenn. I am always reluctant to order without an SA's eye on the boot... but they are going to be boots doing boot things, right? I believe the rep's name was Amy Jo in Brookfield. She was super helpful.

Wearing Style 2906 Tan nubuck waxed suede Strandmoks today.

Picture taken with an iPhone SE 2020. The shoes look better in this picture than they do in the picture on the A-E website although the picture on the A-E website was probably taken by an alleged "professional" photographer using a camera that probably cost more than an iPhone SE 2020 and has fewer features than an iPhone SE 2020.

It's often hard to believe A-E pays someone (maybe a relative who can't find work elsewhere) to take the pictures on their website. Any of us could take better pictures and let A-E use our pictures in exchange for a free pair of shoes.

Non-AE, but I want some opinions on this...

I want to get more pairs with rubber soles, but JFP is doing a free MTO weekend. I want these button boots, but I don't know whether I should do brown Dainite or brown commando on these. What do you guys think? I'd really like to think a commando sole would say something like "English countryside" or something.

I think that Dainite would give you more dress options. Unless you would just be wearing casual pants and jacket.

Agree, but I think these would be mostly casual wear. I'm thinking cords and a cardigan in the fall time kind of vibes.
