I got mine as 2nds over a year ago when the Charleston outlet closed. On the left shoe, the moc stitching is just a touch off (it's not as rounded as the right shoe stitching) and the afore-mentioned lacing issue on the right foot rears its head from time-to-time. I can correct the lacing, when I bother to pay attention to it, and the very, very minor stitching issue on the left doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm sure if someone else looked at them, they might find something that bothers them. But, they're not wearing my boots.any noticeable flaws?
I will say that these were my most-worn pair of AEs in 2022, and will most likely be in the top slot again this year, when all is said and done. Really, really, really like them. I like the look of the Higgins Mill more, but I've also got 3 pairs of those that I rotate through, and just this one Freeport. If the natty CXL version were at this price on Shoebank, I would have already bought it. I have no idea why this makeup is on such deep discount, but I think it's the best-looking stock makeup they have. Fits like a Higgins Mill and the sole is miles more comfortable than Dainite (and I have zero issues with Dainite sole comfort).
If you'd like a boot that gets you about 90% of the styling of an Alden Indy, but at about 1/4 of the price, this could be the one for you.
