I buy these. 4 mm is the same width as the AE laces. 90 cm seem to work best for me. 75 cm might be too short for you. Orders can take 1-2 weeks to arrive from Germany.

Wait, the Higgins has profila binding? I thought they all had rolled piping.

I noticed my pair of Alden boots in tan (Moulded Shoe) have shown signs of the piping being frayed. I don't know how this happened so quickly, but I add extra conditioner to try to keep them looking new. These boots are less than 2 years old. :/

Wait, piping and profila binding aren't the same thing? I've been thinking of them interchangeably. Forgive me, oh wise one.

I believe Bedo's Leatherworks has posted videos of replacing piping on dress shoes before. It's the kind of thing I'm thinking of reaching out to AE about first, though, in case they'll do the work complimentarily.

I have a pair and love them. Very comfortable last for me. For reference, the 511 and 97 lasts are the two best fitting lasts for my feet.
