Only time I've witnessed this phenomenon was few years ago for Pliny the Younger... Beer nerds can be redonkulous... Present company excluded, of course. :D

Stopped at a brewery to get fresh 750 growlers to send out. Then it started snowing on the way home. Missed the UPS store by 15 minutes. Will be going out Monday.

Cheers,
O

Ha. So glad I didn't go to dark horse. Apparently there was a fight in the parking lot. Beer is serious business

There is a threshhold on the volume.

Up to a certain size box, it doesn't matter and after that you might end up paying for the volume instead of the weight.

UPS is something like...if the dimensional weight is over ~5000 cubic inches, you pay by that, otherwise you pay actual weight. So unless it passes 17x17x17 (if cube shaped), you are purely paying by weight.
That's why everybody hates ebay sellers who will cram a suit or sportcoat into the smallest box possible...you could ship it in a 3ft by 2ft by 4 inches box for the same amount of money with a single light fold.

.

Mailed mine by UPS this morning and can confirm this. 14" cube and paid only for weight.

Also feel like an ass because I forgot to put in a note that I wrote.
I'll send a PM upon receipt.
