India's leading Savile Row tailor, Aman Vadhera
Who?

I read the article twice... what does this cloth and Dormeuil have to do with Indian billionaires?

Nor does it says which cloth is worth 80k pounds. It doesn't even say the length of fabric that is worth that much. Who sells fabric by the suit length, rather than the yard? That article is crap.

Here's a better article, which puts the Vanquish II (says it's made by Brioni) at $43,000. From January 2009.

May be I just don't get it but a suit for $ 43,000 WTF is it made out of? Seriously, i like nice well made things, but it seems to me there's no return in quality for that price. I mean is it ten times better than a $4,500 suit? Also, is it OTR? If so

I guess you can always say my suit was $40,000 and yours is cheaper. Although I suspect that even in the eyes of the wealthiest (and educated ones, if they're uneducated is a moot point) it's a pretty f....ing stupid purchase

I don't know what Brioni's justification (excuse) is, but they mention that "at the Qiviuk store in New York, suits cost $20,000." Qiviuk is an entirely different material harvested from some rare muskox -- like cashmere but softer and rarer, which goes some way toward explaining the price in that particular case.
