People who get all pissy because someone uses familiarity to make you feel more comfortable are assholes.

People who use familiarity to make people feel comfortable are assholes.

People are assholes and you should just stay inside your house.

You are an asshole.

I think about 3/4 of the world's population is a 'hun'. And how DID you get the fraction to look like that, anyway?

For some reason it's just that word. I don't mind 'sweetie', 'babe' or whatever, but 'hun' just sounds so contrived and fake (although buddy is a little annoying). Like it's an effort to be nice. If a person never said - that word which must not be said - I probably would think they're nice already (unless they actually weren't - and if that was the case I wouldn't care anyway).

How about those old wrinkled up English ladies that call you "love." Boy has that word lost its meaning for me.

Acceptable terms of endearment:

Boys: buddy, mate
Girls: sugartits

Yes, I believe 'sugartits' is in the latest Oxford English Dictionary.
