There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I came across this forum as I looked to educate myself on evening wear and what to wear for my wedding. Thanks to the incredibly informative members of this forum I was able to piece together an understanding of a tuxedo and how to wear one well (hopefully). While my wife originally felt as if the idea of tuxedo was a little too boyish (while we were planning the wedding) she was extremely pleased with the result.
From learning to tie the bow tie to resenting the size of my boutonnière.
We got married on April 14th, 6 p.m. in Los Angeles.
    Thank you all!

Very nice. This is the once occasion where I suppose it is acceptable for your pocket square to match your date.

On your 25 anniversary, you and your wife will look at these pictures and be impressed at how great you look. Trust me. They're aren't many people who are able to do that.

    congrats!

Did she tell your groomsmen that you were browsing a fashion forum? If so, what was their reaction?

    Congrats.

Why did she think a tux makes you look "boyish"?

What was she thinking about you wearing instead?

Both my wife and I are educators so we only really see formal wear on teenagers. I believe in large part that was the association she made - ill fitting prom rentals.
Originally, I was going to wear a navy blue or black two button peak lapel.
When I had trouble finding one that fit well (I'm 6'2/ 160 pounds/ 38 long) I tossed on this evening jacket and that was that, from there she was hesitant about the a bow tie and wanted me to try on a regular neck tie, to which I responded, "Noted, but my dad wore a bowtie on his wedding day and those pictures still look great today. Besides, I think I can pull this off."

My dad wore a bow tie on my wedding day, too. I enjoy the symmetry of the that fact.

Thank you all for the "congratulations." I was happy to dress for the occasion and in terms of the groomsmen? Well I just had my brother by my side and it was my wedding so I just told him what to wear. I was pretty adamant about not having any "wedding colors" seep into our clothing.
Again, I wanted to be as far away from "prom" as possible.
A fun moment came when my wife's friend's fiancé came up to me and insisted that I wear black tie to his wedding. The open bar may have helped matters.

It's a peak lapel. The nature of these pictures don't really allow you to see them and the flower obscures some of it. Yes, if my research here has shown me anything it is how polarizing notch lapels on evening jackets can be; moreover, I've always favored peak lapels.

The lapel bowing is from the stance. But his collar is a little big. Then again we all can't be perfect like spoo
