wow - some good deals on there - how does the sizing on these run? are they true to size?

I will say that testoni may run .5 large, like if you wear a 8.5 US get a 7 UK. But their shoes have a low instep, so you may not want to size down.

The quality of the amedeo testoni line is superb. This is this the one with the brown leather logo inside the shoe. This line retails for 1000-1200 dollars, which is overpriced, but not at the 300 dollar price point. The leather is thin though, compared to something like Tramezza, but I think it's a lot richer. For 300 - 400 you really can't go wrong though.

I actually picked up a casual pair last night and got the free shipping as well. They seem to have a good return policy, if they do not fit.

It was the reason that I asked about the black label shoes.

Most black label shoes should say black label on the sole. Though, if it doesn't, I think a black fabric label may mean the same thing, but I'm not sure.

How many tiers does testoni have? are those the cream of the crop? How do all the other ones around $200 on yoox compare... it looks like they are part of the "studium" line.

I think they have 4, from best to worse:

Amedeo - brown leather label, with a feather inscribed in the sole
Black label - black fabric label
Standard - printed testoni bolonga italy label
Studio - says studio

Since pretty recently, the black label was their highest line. Amedeo retail for 1000-122, black label 700 - 900. I would only consider Amedeo and black label lines. The major difference between the Amedeo line and black label is that the amedeo line is some kind of hybrid welt/bologna construction technique where black label is just bologna. They use 3 different types of welts, good year, norvogese, and norweigen.

In person, I can only compare the amedeo line and the tramezza line, and I will say that amedeo is better than tramezza.

Hmm, I don't know how conservative they are. My experience is that Yoox pictures do not capture the true color well. I think pkincy bought the same shoes a month ago so try sending him a PM about it.

Does Yoox have a fairly friendly return policy?

They provide the return label. Charge 5 bucks for the return. I think you get 14 days to return it, 21 days to make it there. No questions asked as long as the tags are there.
