Ten C is designed by Alessandro Pungetti and Paul Harvey and is made exclusively in Italy. One fabric. Four colours. Seven jackets. Forever.

I understand that the designers have put time in at C.P. Company and Stone Island.

I just picked up their field jacket and it's a serious piece of outerwear. This is not a fashion jacket. It's functional and utilitarian and the aesthetic is straight-up army surplus. The cut is a bit on the boxy side and the construction and hardware are solid. Every review I've read emphasizes the fabric and I can definitely understand why. The first word that comes to mind is "industrial". The jacket practically stands up on its own. It's soft to the touch but also very rigid and is apparently both breathable and waterproof, though I haven't tested it yet.

They also make removable liners that work in all of their jackets, which seems pretty practical.

I actually tried on their field jacket in Union. I really liked the material and construction, but the fit is a little boxy, and the price was really high for a field jacket.

I picked up the field jacket in October and love it. The jacket is both waterproof and very breathable. Its a bit boxy at first, but the material softens and eventually molds to your body shape. The material also develops a unique sheen on friction points which gives the jacket a very unique look. The price is a bit steep, but I've never felt material like it in my life and don't have any buyers remorse.

As I wrote, it's a quite radical brand, not least because of the pricing. I'm afraid the fit isn't all that flattering on myself but I do love the concept and the painstaking attention to production.

The garments aren't cheap, but the prices are in line with the brands retailers are selling alongside Ten C - Junya Watanabe, Nigel Cabourn, Nanamica, White Mountaineering - and they're still considerably less expensive than many designer brands that produce arguably lower quality products.

I came across Ten C for the first time in Vienna, in Neumann shop. I was looking for Stone Island when the trench and field jacket caught my eye and I must admit, the quality was superior to anything else in the shop. In next few months I found several shops that carry this 'obscure' brand. Unfortunately I never got any official list from the manufacturer, so this list is nor final nor certain. According to the press, there are about 50 stores that carry Ten C, so please feel free to add to this list. One thing I found out is that (allegedly) the material being used for Ten C items is the same material that Bentley uses as soft tops for it's cabriolet cars...

Best info about the brand could be found on 14 Oz's site. Big thanks to member auggie for letting me know about the Dee Cee shop in Zurich.

The latest news regarding the brand is that FGF Industry (Blauer, CP Company) is taking over the distribution from S/S season 2013. Whether this is a good thing, only time will tell.
