Thought I would try something different today - black

monkstrap, silver buckle. A little "clunkier" than my usual taste. However the price was pretty good, and the construction looks great - it also fills a gap in my arsenal. However I can be persuaded out of them if need be.

I have no idea who makes these though - someone had once thought Lattanzi in the past - does anyone know for sure? There are no marks on the interior except for what is on the insole.

They look alright. Perhaps a bit round, but not bad overall.

Anyways, if you like them and they fill a need why would you let yourself be persuaded out of them?

They are round. Which I have not really had experience with, same with a monkstrap. I'm trying to figure out if it's a void that needed to be filled.

Meh, definitely not your style Spoo. Though they look very well made.

Not for me. They look cheap, and the oval buckle doesn't help.

+1 I am gonna be a hater and say they remind me of this: If you don't like them from the get go, I dont think you will ever be happy with them.

If they were brown they would be more useful. As is, I think of these:

spoo, if this was the rationale, i think you know the answer to your question. also, that oval buckle is not terribly elegant.

Yeah I thought so. I was swayed by the price. Back they go - unless someone wants them. Let me know.

But as the only question left here - Who makes for BG house?

Can I assume that these were a second hand purchase, and not directly from BG? Unless they were >75% off, that's a lot of wear for shoes direct from the retailer.

youre capable of a much better pair of black monks. Personally I think those look like pilgrim shoes. not a fan myself.
