States that when you buy a shirt with a detach collar that you buy a shirt a half size smaller in the neck. I wear a 15.5 I buy a 15, and that you buy the detach at normal size. Is that true with the BB shirts, why is this?

Some say buy shirt normal size and collar one size larger; others say buy collar normal size and shirt one size smaller.

The reason in either case is that it is hard to attach the collar if it and the shirt are the same size.

My understanding is that the collar should be 1/2 size larger than the shirt. I assume that since the collar goes around the outside of the shirt band it needs to be longer than the band in order to fit onto it properly.
