Edit: might also be good if you want a suit you don't mind trashing, something to wear out on the town that might end up destroyed by the end of the night.

This is my reason. I'm 27 and still go to wild drinking wedding and such - events where you want to look sharp, but don't want to risk a $1500 suit to a bottle of red wine or a slap on the back from a friend who just finished eating a buffalo wing. Thus, the need for something like this.

I've had cocktails spilled on all my nicest stuff. It's a risk that one assumes when hanging with women that like to party.
