Tapering Suit Pants

I recently went to pick up a suit that had altered, suit pants were tapered. When I tried them on it looked like the right pants leg was wider than the left. They laid them on a table and measured the legs and they were measuring out the same. It is being pressed and they said that could help. Just curious if anyone has had this happen before.
Thanks

Well, guess what. Bad tailors love to work with checkered suit jackets because they use the squares as units of measurement. Good tailors try not to see the squares because they know a human body is never fully symmetrical.

Could the illusion be attributed to your legs being each different? If so, would you prefer trousers with different leg widths (copying your body) or trousers with equal leg widths (masking your lack of symmetry)?

While I believe that jackets should always copy your body, trousers ought to mask any lack of symmetry (the latter within reason - I can imagine it must be quite uncomfortable to feel the difference).
