The more tropical climes would extend the appropriate season of nominal summer clothing item by some number of weeks directly proportional to the nearness of the equator.
I don't think it would look out of place during a summer evening, but might on cooler autumn/spring nites.
Just please don't wear black shoes with a tan suit.
