Tan shoes with....

Was thinking of getting these:

And pairing with my navy suits as a break from the black, burgundy, brown suedes I typically wear. I know its not too formal but I wear a suit 4-5/week and have seen this before.

Your thoughts?

Indeed. those will look great with a bit of wear and care. the dark edging will go nicely with a darker polish, and work well with navy or tan. probably not for a pinstripe though.

The color is fine. Very italian look to wear it with a navy suit.

The shoe itelf - a little blobby in the toe region.

The colour of that shoe doesn't even resemble tan.
If you get some real tan shoes, use them with a light grey shoe!

Allow me to explain my usage of the word blobby. While the toe isn't circular in shape like some Church's, as seen from above, it is, in my opinion somewhat high in elevation, as seen from the side at ground level. I give myself the right to use blobby in that context.

The exact opposite might be G&G, which has a very low profile on the toe box for most of its shoes (and often a chiseled toe, which is also lacking here).

I checked out the Peal & Co (C&J) monk's at BB a few months ago, but didn't buy for this reason.

They'll work fine. The color on them is versatile to wear with almost anything.

just make sure your navy suit is on the slimmer side and those shoes are fine.

Was going to check these Peal & Co. from Brooks Brothers out (in brown) as well: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...=&sectionsize= I'm thinking the light brown/tan is a little more fun than the brown.

Stick with the tan. I reserve brown for combos that would only allow it (such as a jacket or coat that would not go with tan).

I think it would look fine with a navy suit - pinstripe even. Obviously it is not a conservative choice, but still looks good, particularly with a more slim fitting suit. I've posted pics with the combo before (oxfords, not monks). Some SFers like it, some don't. So whatever floats your boat.
