Meh. I have faith in institutions, but why pays fees for intermediaries if you don’t have to. Plus, the blockchain isn’t going to be used purely for money anyway. There are tons of other uses.

I think it's a part of it. I've been seeing stuff lately pointing to this as a reason.

Distributed ledgers are incredibly useful, much as twitter and facebook monetize thru advertising, people hosting parts of distributed ledgers are rewarded in currency. While the end user might not interact with the currency, the host does.

Steem is an interesting example of this kind of use case, they pay you in Steem to write on their blogging platform. https://steemit.com/

For some great listening / watching on investing in bitcoin or blockchain check out these videos. 1 is a Joe Rogan podcast from last year with the chief security officer of bitcoin. It's long but worthwhile as most JRE podcasts are:

and specifically with regard to blockchain investing there are two great videos that focus on the canadian markets but everything is tradable in the US as well.

Anyone know what the current deal with TurboTax and investments is?

I know they rolled back the change that moved the investment stuff into Premier...is that still the case? At least last year, you could buy Deluxe and do all of the investment related forms (they still tried to encourage you to go Premier, but that was just for extra "advisory" features, not for actual form filling).

Etherum has gone from 600 to 725 in less than 24 hours.

The guys in a crypto messaging group I'm in are recommending ADA.

^ Tell them the guys on styleforum are recommending LTC. We can all cross-pump each other. (Any particular reason they like ADA other than the fact that they own it?)

I thought Coinbase only allowed you to buy BTC, ETH, and LTC. Where can you buy other currencies? I dont care to personally search, just wondering how you jump to each different currency.

Ive heard good things about Ada/Cardano. They have a really good team behind them. Everything is peer-reviewed, lead guy ran Etherum for like 6 months.

Been looking at Stellar Lumens. Any Opinions?
