For the kids in the room: Borders was a bookstore. Books are paper versions of Kindles.
Borders was fun. You could just browse, or page though your recent purchase while sipping a coffee in the cafe. The local outlet had book readings and such on weekends, so on a Friday or Saturday night the place was packed. I was very sorry to see it close.

Afternoon surge hits again.
Sort of reminiscent of the rock-em, sock-em market action during the financial crisis. I'd leave work at 3:30P with the Dow at one level, then arrive at the gym 15 minutes later to see it had careened 100 points (or more).

100 points seem so quaint now. If it isn't some wild 500 point swing then it doesn't really count.

Well, that's the thing, even back then at 100 it was only around 1% or so.

The only thing I was trading in 82 was body fluids with high school girls (because I was in high school, you degens.)
