Tangentially related --
The girlfriend's mom has some medical issues that give her chronic, sometimes debilitating pain. Her doctor is apparently reluctant to prescribe opioids (understandable as a general matter, and I'm guessing the patient hasn't pushed and has downplayed her pain somewhat). I accompanied the girlfriend to a dispensary to buy cannabis for her mom, who (mom) is too embarrassed/uncertain to do it for herself. In discussing ratios and such of different products, the dispensary salesperson said, "You have to keep in mind, if you're using it for pain management the THC goes directly to the pain, which proportionally reduces the amount that goes to getting you high, so you can go with a higher ratio." Science FTW!
It reminded me of college conversations about how THC bonds with food molecules, so the calories for anything you eat when you have the munchies don't count.
It’s 2020 brah, you can embrace your potfiendedness with no need to create fictional “girlfriend’s mom” constructs.

Close of the quarter today. Another reminder we still have 3 months to go but it's not like the arbitrary turnover in calendar makes any difference.

Current plan is dumping bond funds a week before the election to be ready to pounce back into SPY. I'm thinking a "crash up" is quite possible if Biden wins solidly on November 3. If markets are still down 10-12% from the highs, and it's pretty clear Biden will eventually be declared the winner after Trump tries to litigate it in front of the SCOTUS.

How you can tell the WSJ thinks Republicans will soon be out of power. It's time to dust off "The Deficit".
