Is it weird that I read this in the voice of Ira Glass? Because I did and it totally did weird things to my boner.

Onto more financial topics, I just refinanced my student loans to an absolutely absurd 3.74%. I refinanced 4 months ago to 4.86%. Rates are dropping every day it seems like......

Same thing happened in the eighties to my stepfather and his friend. They went to Germany to talk (quietly) to the board of a bicycle factory about buying them to save them from bankruptcy, so it was on a Saturday. His friend was actually the buyer , but didn’t give two hoots about cars and the like. So he drove an older BMW. My stepfather was his right hand man, and the actual turnaround manager.

They got turned away at the security gate because there only was an important meeting that day and he and his friend could not be it, board members would only drive Mercedes S class cars.

They called the company from a phone booth nearby that if they wanted to be bought, they needed to walk to the gate to let them in as they already gotten refused once. But that the security guard had given them an ‘interesting’ insight in the company.

The company is called Accell and is listed these days ?

I used earnest (if you want to refi let me know there is some 200$ promotion). I like then and have used them before

And yes they are. Alas I got out of the federal student loans quite some time ago and refinances privately. Now I move them every year or so if rates are changing!

That said, he has roommates and splits those questionable bills. Many might find the donations questionable, but it seems like he is saving plenty.

Also, my internet bill is only $20. Cable tv is included in my building and adding internet is only $20 right now.

It’s almost as good ‘how to retire at xx like this millennial’ and at the bottom they add that he lived at home with his parents the entire time to save on rent. (Or parents bought them a house)
