Clearly they have to find a more expensive CEO, you can’t expect an 18.5m CEO to turn it around.

... That is the turnaround guy. The bankruptcy was months before he started.

Also, not sure how exactly it is being valued because the majority of it is in options with a strike price of multiple times the current price...

April is going to be another long month. Take out only is not going to save a ton of restaurants so a lot will close. Next will be reports on % of people that delayed various payments for things like credit cards, mortgages, cars, and other monthly payments. Once the stimulus checks start hitting direct deposit accounts, there will also be stories regarding the unbanked and how their checks will be to their house by June.

The number of people that will get Covid19 then die will likely be 7 figures. The math on this virus, with what data is coming out, mixed with historical deaths for other viruses, makes millions of deaths easy to conceive.

If you have an hour, this Peter Attia podcast he released yesterday is really good. Who cares how many ventilators and PPE we can have, when you are on a ventilator you needs a TON of meds and most are manufactured outside of the US. Everyone will be vying for drugs: https://peterattiamd.com/michaelosterholm/

I think you are right. Jobless claims for April are forecast around 10 million, versus a previous single-month record of around 2 million at the end of 1945 as war production was halted. And the virus is really just getting started in the SouthEast, which will get hit the hardest. Normal bear market service is about to resume after the rally into the end of March.

Why would the southeast get hit the hardest? I'd think the weather down there would help contain it.

The above. But also the fattest, sickest and poorest states in America. So, bad start plus bad underlying conditions probably means very bad outcomes.

Normally I’d gleefully join in ******** on my state, but at least in the southernmost tip (heh) people are taking it seriously. Traffic extremely low and all establishments that I can see, are complying. Despite what our idiot governor says.

but yes, we do have a huge population of sick and elderly, so I agree with that part.

China’s old population was just old, they were actually not super overweight or obese. The comorbidity story is finally building and will consume the bigger population in the south.

Another interesting data point is coming out of Japan. While their story was initially pretty minor, the people are now coming outside and getting sick. When the weather gets nice, everyone in the south finds a boat, drinks, and everything goes out the window.

Heat doesn’t really stop the flu which people seem to compare this to. The flu is continuous in the equatorial region of the world so the heat will do nothing to stem this. We just started Q2 and March felt ******* awful. 3 months of this ****? People will get annoyed and ******* give up.

Ive worked from home since March 12 and I can’t really verbalize what every day feels like other than the Groundhogs Day movie. Weekends don’t help

Morrissey was right, every day is like Sunday -- including the existential dread at the end of it.
