1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    On a risk-adjusted basis, sure.

Massive potential gains! But my $OREX isn't doing too well, even though it's up over 50% this week! :foo:

I think I'm addicted to checking my portfolio. Even when the market is closed, I check it at least once an hour to look at my net worth. I dunno why.

Advanced Cell Technology is now Ocata Therapeutics. Looks like they are going to shoot for Europe before US, pretty sweet.

Seems slightly excessive. Updated our YTD return through Q3 in October and haven't checked back. Up 8.9% so can't complain.

Cheaper than getting your prescription checked? Make sure you can still read tiny numbers?

Definitely excessive. I probably refresh my portfolio account to track how my positions are doing during market open at least several hundred times a day. Even if I'm not going to be making any trades. It's a disease.

My YTD returns are very solid thus far:

    Brokerage: 35.5%
    ROTH IRA: 14.77%
    401(k): 12.27%
    HSA: 0.7% :embar:

I'm really itching to sell AAPL now. But I'm feeling greedy because what if it goes up to $120 by December?! :fu:

I am pretty sure that is my return. I use the IRR function in excel so negative beginning balance, negative additions, positive ending balance. Next year will hopefully be the 1st year without any major changes since this year had marriage and job changes.

I'm pulling the trigger. I'm liquidating my AAPL position. This is huge for me as I've been holding onto this for more than two years at this point.

    Edit: BOOM. Sold @ $113.98

Can't wait for the tax man to come take my hard-earned money.

Not helping the share price, that's for sure.

Bad move. AAPL usually upticks around the holidays.

It's not that I don't think it can go up more. It's entirely that I wanted to lock in my gains.

Having sold it doesn't preclude me from buying it again soon for an ultra short-term (1-2 months) position.

No, if the Lancet publication did nothing for PPS, this news wouldn't have either. Gonna have to wait for commercialization in 2018. I have no probs holding this one. I think the name change is ultimately positive though. Now when people google the name of the company they won't be bombarded with age old legacy issues.

They r going after the same pie as Sanofi and Regeneron and Novartis, ever decreasing smallish pie. Why?
Cause Wall Street analists love it. I hope Ocata stock goes ganbusters after this.

Wait...macular degeneration is not a small pie...

Only thing really concerning me ATM with Ocata is price...they estimate treatments will be in the six figures, naturally.

One potentially interesting IPO today-- Landmark Infrastructure Partners LP (LMRK). I don't know all the specifics of the offering, but as with all MLPs, the GP has a number of incentives to drop down assets into the MLP cheaply. If done well, this would generate decent earnings/distribution growth.

The base business is renting tiny pieces of land to cell towers, billboards, etc. Generally low-turnover, low-risk real estate. May be worth a look.

I think it was you that posted about an MLP last year. You posted, it dipped, I laughed, you mentioned it again, I looked, it was up, you had the last laugh. I still know nothing about these types of holdings.
