I always find it amusing when people in the office talk about investing and retirement savings. Most have no clue what they are holding or they have a lot of money tied up in our company stock and they wondered if the company was doing bad last Thurs/Fri.
I don't try to explain anything at all.
My buys go in tomorrow and luck would have it the mortgage company called and wondered why we have a large international deposit into our account this week. Seems my fiance's grandfather decided we needed help in buying our house and didn't ask first. . .
FB baby, FB.
Up 20%. Crushing with a game changing quarter. Glad I held this one.
By the way guys, EPZM looks to be at an attractive level. If it falls below 30 it may fall thru some support levels but I may nibble again here, perhaps a day trade.
Pm, pfe, GSk, krft, mo, lo, cop, Cvx and GE in a dividend portfolio, and Bac in my regular portfolio. Dividend stocks have been hammered recently so it's been nice to buy them at a price in which I'll actually earn something worthwhile in the way of dividends.
Not a problem to complain about.
This dip we're seeing absolutely is a fantastic time to buy shit.
Get your shopping lists ready brahs!
I was contemplating buying google after it dropped Monday but was too scared. Fucking hindsight.
This stuff happens so regularly that I am usually waiting with cash I hand, but I've learned that it can get really bad quickly, so I usually stagger my purchases over a couple days/weeks.
I remember how bad the nuclear reactor disaster and BP disaster hit the markets and how long they lasted. I usually buy the stocks caught in the cross fire, rather than the main ones effected. When bp's leak happened it caused a price reduction in other oil stocks as well, I bought XOM and CVX for $57 and $70 respectively.
Those follow along dips are brutal but you can catch them on the upside too. I remember shipping names did this like clockwork, good news for one meant good news for all!!
Certainly, I just hate to miss a good deal so I usually put limit purchase in and sit on them until they go through. The ones that miss are discarded after some time,
Risk happens fast. Stocks take the stairs up but the elevator down.
So tempting to take profits in FB today.
Amazons PE is 1400? Lol...
Hell usually these AMZN misses get bought up after a couple of days.
just glad to see it back in the 4s
