But maybe the adults aren’t?

That study doesn’t do the best job showing its math - y-axis is some statistical sounding yet undefined “causal effort”. But anecdotally the conclusion rings true. I’ve been somewhat shocked to observe how rapidly and totally sports betting has become part of the lives of my various male friends. I myself am too risk-averse so I’m out.

If they’re forgoing the nest egg because they think this is the Eagles’ year, then my wife and I might have to get used to vacationing by ourselves later in life…

This doesn't sound like a useful metric when we've had the longest stretch of low unemployment since the 60's (eg before this data set even started).

Unemployment is still historically low at 4.3% and the prime age (25-54) employment rate is close to its all-time high.

Don't get me wrong, I'm cheering for Powell and co to reduce interest rates and I hope they can control the rise in unemployment, but I don't buy into this brand of doom and gloom.

Maybe it's not you, but I feel like someone has been posting this sort of woe-is-the-economy headlines for a few years now and I guess eventually they will be true.
