Ours is $10 a month, they are just keeping the light shining on the rock wall at the front of the subdivision. Part of the problem is width of driveways, since most of these were built in the early 2000s and cars have gotten bigger, the side entrance garages are harder to swing into.

Our HOA is $90 a month which is pretty good IMO. The major expenses would be the lift station for sewage, keeping the streets in tip top shape (private roads,) and the cost of the gate and landscaping.
