Total for your tendies only I'm assuming? Otherwise you really beat the market this month.

Correct. Total realized loss for my non IRA accounts with my tendies money. I have a bunch of unrealized losses from my monthly dividends which doesn't bother me because that's not tendies trading. As long as I'm stacking those dividends I'm cool.

Usually tendies wins get invested into non-tendies dividend payers. Tendies losses take away from future tendies wins since it's less capital to play with.

Finished January down about 12%, and it would have been markedly worse except for the strong finish over the last couple days. If memory serves this is how I started 2021: down early, then even by Spring, then happy days.

I had been about to fund another tranche of dividend stocks and had picked AT&T due to it's sweet, sweet yield and "dividend royalty" status...further research revealed they are about to sell some profitable assets, who knows what else, and that will lead to dividend cuts.

Back to the drawing board.

I've missed a few buses via limit orders as well. But you have to ask yourself: unless you're just looking to scalp a couple bucks, does it really matter whether you get into a good investment at $790 or $795? I know nothing about SHOP but see its 52-week high is around $1760. Maybe the bus is still idling. (Not investment advice, and SHOP is getting hammered today.)

Well I put a limit order in an went about my day and it didn't get filled. I then just threw it in NVDA to have some exposure there.

Saw a headline that said "Google just made its stock much more affordable"

They are talking about an upcoming stock split...but I feel like you could just use that headline anytime a company ***** up.

PayPal just made its stock more affordable!

Especially since headlines about stock splits are stupid...they are completely unimportant, especially given the rise of fractional shares.
