No it isn't, but don't you think there's a good chance of re-monetization if things continue going the way they are ?

of gold? Good lord I hope not.

I don't think our economic elites have gone quite that insane, although the hard money folks are a lot louder these days.

 There is zero chance of US moving back to gold standard. ZERO.

Yes, but apparently we still have to discuss it, along with every odd penny stock on the planet. God forbid we discuss anything on here that CNBC doesn't cover daily.

    Ron Paul ftw! :hide:

haha yeah one of my econ / banking professors went off about how dumb he believed Ron Paul was and said if you want the gold standard you might as well nuke every major American city, as it would have less long term damage compared to moving back to the gold standard

    Why do you say this?

When the dollar collapses, which it will. All fiat currencies fail on a long enough timeline, what do you expect people to do? Believe in a new paper currency? Or will they demand a currency backed by something real?

haha you clearly dont understand the point of owning gold.

physical buyers arent selling. theres a big difference between physical and paper markets.

Well shit be lookin ugly this morning.

Can't say I mind particularly, as we have no exposure right now, and bad markets mean other funds are going to do poorly.
