I don't know dude I'm just guessing here, I really don't know.
"Finally, the move doesn’t seem to be all that huge — only about 30bp in this quarter. Which doesn’t seem remotely enough to cause a $2 billion loss. Still, Iksil managed it somehow"
Sounds like there is more than that.
So hedge funds got pitted against JPM. That adds up.
And the Volker rule is bad for business. These fucks are killing us and lobbying hard to water down regulation.
Its as if the stars aligned. On the one hand they are lobbying like crazy and the very same thing that the rules are proposed to prevent are happening right now.
About the JP Morgan story:
Netflix cancelled vacation hold? When did this happen:
I dunno...but it makes sense as it moves more and more toward a streaming service.
If you think about it, having an active netflix streaming account has some sort of intrinsic value just in knowing that it is there. You could technically pull out your phone/ipad/laptop in a hotel and use it in seconds...so its not like DVD delivery where it loses 100% of its value to you when you are not home.
Sure, lots of people won't use it on vacation but as the nature of the service changes, I can understand why they would make this change.
I'm streaming only. With account holds though my monthly membership usually lasts like 2-2.5 months as I'll only have a lot free time for a little bit and then I'll watch a whole show over a few days or something like that. I just found it weird that they didn't seem to announce that this feature would go away or anything as my account just reactivated today from my previous hold.
And you wonder why its gone?
Not saying it was a bad move on Netflix's part but given that none of my friends knew about it until I showed them I don't think it was a widely used feature. And just doing away with it doesn't seem in line with what they are supposed to do after their price raising issues
Looking like today will be another shit show!
Sold 75% of my holdings at +300%. Damn hindsight, wishing I had invested more than the pittance I did.
any predictions for friday?
