interestingly that attack pioneered a very interesting medical technique:
Doctors removed one-quarter of his skull to relieve the pressure of his swelling brain during an operation known as a decompressive craniectomy. The portion of skull was placed in a pouch in [Roy's] abdomen in the hope of replacing it later.
the portion of skull was placed in a pouch in roy's abdomen what, they didn't have a ziploc handy?

A friend had the same thing done under slightly differen circumstances. According to him his skull was in some jar somewhere but he was fuzzy on the details. Actually, a LOT was fuzzy to him at the time. He's on the mend now though.
