Take a look at this "Borrelli" Tie

I bought some ties from this guy and some things looked a bit off. I am not an expert but one of the ties I got I had looked at the same one in the Borrelli Boutique in NYC and it was 7 fold. I got the tie from this guy and it was a 5 fold and the silk seemed a bit different. I brought the ties to a men's shop near me that sells Borrelli and I trust them. The salesman said the ties appeared to all be authentic. I also brought the ties to a salesmen I know at the Borrelli Boutique and he said they were authentic as well from the new collections no less.

However take a look at the item above. It has the pink hand stitched tab but a Paul Stuart label?

So my questions are:

1. Does Borrelli make ties with the same design in 5 and 7 (I assume they do)
2. If they do dos the silk differ sometimes?
3. What's the deal with this Paul Stuart one?

I read that Kronic had problems with this guy but the ties were such a good deal I had to try it (Sorry Kronic I feel bad this guy screwed you). BTW the seller changed his name from Salvio_s or something to napoli_store)

PS could easily have had ties made by Borrelli. PS has several stores in Asia (Japan & Korea I believe) so this tie could have been intended for that market. I've never seen a similar looking tie in any US PS store but who knows. Most of the other guys stuff looks good though. I would be surprised if it was a fake.

Perhaps the pictures are wrong. You would think he would say "Paul Stuart" somewhere.

It has all the style details of a Borrelli tie so the posting is correct, the label is just wrong.

I have purchased two Borrelli ties from this seller and couldn't be happier. I paid, on average, $50 for them, and got them within a week from Italy. There's absolutely no question that they are genuine Borrelli. Mine have the usual Borrelli logo and label. It has to be expected that large companies like Borrelli, Brioni, etc., will produce merchandise in more than one style or form. I suspect that mine were produced for the European market. From a close examination of the two I got, I'd call them lined 3-folds. They have exactly the same silk lining as the outside of the tie (so they're not just self-tipped, but in fact self-lined), and I can detect three folds. The silk is quite heavy, so that with this construction, they will tie a pretty large knot.

I don't think there's any deception in the seller saying "direct from Naples store," as it seems to me that he has a store in Naples and is able to get his hands on a lot of Borrelli merchandise for sale, from that store, on eBay.

Ian Daniels has had some Borrelli pieces (shirts, from what I recall) that were made for PS...

I have seen "Borrelli for . . ." ties before but I have never seen a Borrelli tie that didn't at least have Borrelli somewhere on it.

Also, the listing says "direct from Naples store," which is obviously not the case.

Not sure about designs, but people at the midtown Borrelli botique told me they stock only seven folds in the store ($195) and the department stores stock fivefolds.
