I am going on a vacation to Serengeti next week and plan on being in Dar for a few days -anyone know of any tailoring deals to be had?

    Thanks,

not specifically, but there are a lot of indian tailors in eastern africa, so you might be able to find some good ones in Dar.

Panzer, check with the US Embassy when you get into Dar. One of my colleagues from b-school lived in Dar es Saalam for seven years working for Deloitte. Her husband was is with state and over cocktails one night mentioned that there were a couple of fellows in town that do a good job. I'm sure the embassy staff could make a recommendation or two.

I often check in with the embassy when I'm abroad and find that the staff are incredibly helpful with tailors, shops, etc.

    Cheers,

    Hoya

Ahh...Bokassa - he was a good one - though no one really tops "The King of All Scots" Idi Amin. Panzer
