    Hi SF,

do any of you gentlemen happen to know a bespoke tailor in Florence / Firenze (or nearby area) and would recommend his services? I'm in the northern Tuscany area on occasion and would like to have a linen summer jacket/suit made.

I couldn't find opinions / reports on the sartorias Google suggested.

    Thanks for any helpful advice!

Liverano and Seminara are often cited as the two best tailors in Florence.

Diggin' up my old thread to ask yet again... does anyone here have info on Sartoria Seminara (Tie Your Tie) and Sartoria Marinaro in Florence?

I'd specifically like to know what style they cut and what the prices are.

    Thanks for any info.

You can email them from info gathered through a search.

It will get you what you are asking and be much better than the nothing you are going to receive from first handers.

More work maybe than you are willing to do though it is not as if I suggested you take a trip to Firenze to get your answers.

I just had my first visit to Sartoria Seminara in early December. I am going back there for the first fitting in early Feb.
What sort of information are you looking for?

One can find a lot of info on at least Liverano here on SF and on the internet by now.

I haven't tried any of those tailors, yet, though.

Yes, sorry to clarify, I meant Seminara.

I was just interested to learn more about pricing etc.

I've had a tweed jacket made by Sartoria Seminara. The price was EUR 1600. The cloth was very old and had been sitting in his atelier for at 20 years so this price is on the lower end. I imagine it would cost more if you choose to have your jacket made with a finer cloth.

My wife had an ulster coat made with Casentino cloth and it was EUR 2300.

I imagine a 2pc suit would cost around EUR 2000 but once again it would depend on the cloth.

The pricing is much more reasonable than other tailors such as Liverano ( I had to pay EUR 4500 for a 2pc suite ) but Liverano had a finer finishing ( button holes and etc.. ).

Mr. Seminara is a very nice gentleman and I would recommend you make a visit ( even if you decide to go for other tailors ).
Just FYI - he doesn't accept credit card so you will had to either pay him cash or transfer money to his bank account.

Thanks for this info, it's always good to have a general idea of price before you go into a tailors. Price seems reasonable enough.
Button holes I understand what you mean about finer finishing at more expensive tailors, but were you happy with your end suit?

    Thanks

Yes, I am quite pleased with what he's made for me. If I had a chance, I would definately go back for another commission.

If a email could solve the problem, what's the meaning for a forum like this one? Not to mention if you don't write in Italian, they don't even bother to reply you.

I am surprised the starting price for Seminara hasn't changed.....and I believe Mr Gianni Seminara do all the works in the atelier by himself because he even replied the email by himself...lol
