Tailors in Naples Who Speak English?

My parents will be spending a few weeks in June visiting the Amalfi coast, and I have convinced my father to take this opportunity to visit a few Neapolitan tailors.

Are there are tailors, apart from Rubinacci, who speak English (or have someone around the shop who does)? Both Panico and Mazzuocolo (sp?) maintain websites in English, but I'm uncertain if they are fluent themselves.

Thanks - ET

Nobody I know of. Maybe that Pirozzi fellow who posted on here for a while would be a good choice.

These people are not savages. Go with pictures and you will do fine. Each one will have someone at the shop who speaks a little English.

I don't think I ever equated an individuals inability to speak a language with savagery. My father is not well versed in sartorial matters, and he'll have a tough enough time verbalizing what he'd like in his native tongue, hence his preference for an English speaking tailor.

And no, I'd be hesitant to simply walk into a tailor's shop, show him some pictures and let him take it from there. These people are not copycat Hong Kong tailors.

brescd01 must have been thinking of barbarism not savagery. This thread's much funnier than it has any right to be.

To truly apreciate the genius of Bresch, you need to get him talking about money.

Why is this funny?

Whenever I meet my tailor, I just point to a few AA illustrations I bring with me, give him a thumbs up (sometimes a high-five) and leave

Let us know if you use Pirozzi and what the results are like; I'm curious after seeing his work on the forum.

I'm not planning on it, but he does seem to speak English. I don't have any interest in confusing myself by using multiple tailors.

I wish, Manton, I DID have a genius for money, then it woud no longer be important to me and I could spend as much as I want. Unfortunately, every dollar is precious....
