Good morning all,

I recently purchased a suit that I absolutely love. The shoulders are fine but the problem is that the front of the suit jacket where you button up is too big. Is this something a tailor can fix?

Yes. If the fronts are excessively big a good tailor will open the side seams and take the front parts in only or take the front in more than they take in the back parts. You cannot reduce the front edge due to the buttonholes being cut thru the cloth. Since the suit is finished, you can only work on the side seams.

The other option is to work on the seam where the side body and fronts are joined but this means opening and remaking the front pockets and that is costly and a lot of work. Easier and more of a possibility if you have lower patch pockets.
