No, it's the same difference, but you'll lose the split curtain.

I just had a pair let out an inch, they don't look so great...with any cotton, but esp cotton/linen you will see slight (or not so slight marks from where the pants were sewn if they are let out. I'll need to wear these with a belt to cover the marks.

I take back what I said about not being able to squeeze in them. After trying on about 8 pair I was able to get a pair of tan all cotton chinos for $20 at Daffy's, thus my "skinny pants thread". I'm sure once I wash them they won't fit tho, just like my STF Levis
