Tailoring Dress Shirts

I understand that tapering the sides of a dress shirt is fairly straightforward, but what about the armpit area of the shirt? Can this area be adjusted much to make it truly fit well? I'm referring to the blue area in the picture below.

If my english level was ok .yes.
I have done that with some fat shirts, turned into slim ones. A total re pattern should have done,aware of bad hands man!

If the tailor is taking in the seam on the side they should also be taking in the seam in the armpit area and into the sleeve as well.

I have them take in the sides and the arms, and that includes the armpits. so if they're taking in the side, just make sure they also take in some of the arm/armpit

A tailor can do this to some extent, but it will only really be successful if the shoulder seam is in the right place.
