Hi All,
Recently i was on the hunt for some acorn fabrics for shirts in Singapore with the intention of bring the fabrics to Bangkok to get some shirts tailored. Managed to track down a tailor in Singapore, Hwa Seng Textile, who sells these fabrics. They have a wide range of sea island and Egyptian cotton fabrics. I met Mr Goh at HST and the experience was quite informative as he shared with me his experience in the tailoring industry. To cut the story short, i decided to get HST to tailor a double collar shirt for me. (Have always wanted to have a double collar shirt
)
Below are photos of the shirt, which i have just collected from HST but the photos are a bit crappy as it was taken using my mobile phone.
My observations for the shirt are listed below:
1) The sleeve length is a bit too long as you can see the sleeves bunching up.
2) The sleeve diameter needs to be reduced.
Some features which i notice from the HST shirt:
1) MOP buttons
2) French internal seams
3) Single needle threading
4) Non fused collars and cuffs
5) Some sort of heat treatment for the button stitching
I did not opt for the hand stitched button holes as that would have jack up the cost of the shirt.
Constructive comments of the fitting and cutting of the shirt are welcome.
