Hey all - I'm looking for a tailor in NYC that does CMT <$1000.

I'm in the textile business so I get fabrics at a pretty good rate and would prefer to use a quality tailor to the suit together for me.

Any suggestions / recommendations?

Thanks!

The only tailor I know in that price range is Mr. Ned, and he doesn't do CMT and isn't particularly good imo.

Ercole is $1,800 for CMT, and Manolo Cost is $1,600. Both are bespoke.

My tailors, Cad & the Dandy visit NY regularly, they take customer cloth and have a base price for Made to Measure with a very reasonable surcharge for full London Bespoke ( cut by John DeBoise)

Are there any other tailors in that price range that would do CMT? $1,600 doesn't seem so bad. I'm finding it quite difficult to find a reputable tailor that would, seems most of them make their money on up charging the cost of fabrics.

One caveat with Cad & The Dandy in NY: While DeBoise is a very good cutter, he visits NY infrequently. So while he cuts all the suits, the fittings (which are critical in my mind) are all executed by their CEO, who is not a trained cutter / tailor.

I have seen several of their suits, and the ones fitted in London (presumably by DeBoise) are markedly better.

Fair point, I think John said he was cutting his US trips down from 4 to 2 times a year, I was only just speaking to him about this last Friday.
I would assume James or Ian would have one of the junior cutters with them as well if John wasn't accompanying them on the trip? I can ask later in the week if you want?

I was told a few months ago that James travels by himself. Perhaps things have changed.

If you do get some news, please keep us updated.

The prices on the website include cloth, which actually seem quite reasonable. Do you know their CMT costs?

Thanks
