Tailor question - Is is straightforward to duplicate trousers?

Hi,

I've finally found some OTR trousers that I'm happy with and need only minor adjustments to fit well. Unfortunately, they don't come in some fabrics that I would like to have in my wardrobe. Question to tailors or those who have tried this already - is duplicating a pair of trousers in a new material from an existing pair easy for a competent tailor? I'm curious as to the degree of mismatch I might reasonably expect.

your tailor will has his own way of tailoring, so it will not be identical. if he makes it himself it should fit well. if he farms it out M2M he has no control over its making. but it "could" come out fine.
