Did a search but the latest result was 8 years old. Tulsa’s a bit of a sartorial wasteland and Sherman Ray doesn’t seem to be in business anymore.

Naturally I want a tailor that is very good at what they do, but a strong understanding of English is a big deal to me for discussing things like waist suppression. I’ve heard Vo’s recommended multiple times, but I’ve also seen a lot of complaints. Curious what the folks here have to say.

If it’s relevant, I’m needing waist suppression/sleeve length on two tweed sport coats and tapering/darts for a half dozen shirts.

Went to Vo’s. The only tailor in the shop was a Vietnamese gentleman (apparently Vo is on extended vacation in California), but he definitely seemed to know what he was doing. Got 3 shirts tapered and darts in two, French cuff converted to single and extended on the other (no fabric in cuff to let out; seems it was previously tailored). The trench coat sleeves actually can be lengthened to my great surprise, and the jacket will get waist suppression, new buttons, and sleeve length adjusted.

Will post review after work is done.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
