New here, and new to the South Bay area as well. Learning a lot just trolling. (here on the site, not in the South Bay.)

Need a place to get my pricey (to me) (my first non-levis ever) jeans shortened up a little. I don't wanna cuff em. Don't like that look. Is there a place that will shorten them without un-kool-ing them? And hopefully I can get some simple alterations on crappy clothes there as well?

And if it's the same place, great, but I'm guessing there might be a different place to get some nicer things worked on, one that won't turn anything I hand them into a brooks brothers cut?

And a cleaner for the latter in or around Northern San Jose and Santa Clara?

Thanks.

Depending on how much you care about how your jeans are hemmed... A trip into San Francisco could get your Self Edge's chainstitching.

"You can now have your jeans hemmed with a vintage Union Special Chainstitching Machine at Self Edge. Enjoy the same look found on vintage jeans and all jeans from our Japanese manufacturers by retaining the chainstitched hem by having your jeans hemmed by us on our newly acquired vintage Union Special Chainstitcher.
Also, with a chainstitch your hem will form a beautiful roping effect after time due to the opposite pull of denim during washing/shrinking."

It would cost you $15 and I'd prefer that to a regular tailor's methods for hemming denim.
