Donald Draper did it a few seasons ago and looked badass, ass usual. If you resemble DD both in appearance and figure, have the properly fitting clothes (i believe he wore slacks and a fit t), and decide to smoke while building a kids playground, then go for it.

come to think of it I used to see people doing this a lot down south. When its a humid >100 F outside even some of you sartorial pedants would be willing to sport a v neck with worsted or linen trousers

With a sharp pair of light linen trousers, a T like this looks great in the summer (if you have the body): http://www.johnsmedley.com/uk/mens/c...les/basil.html (Not in lime green, but in one of the muted colours.) I don't understand why some sartorial snobs think a polo shirt is Okay (which is clearly sportswear), when a high quality T like this is much sharper. Clearly though, as people have said, this is not for formal occasions, even if the trousers are more formal. It's very much a smart-casual summer look. (Definitely don't wear a jacket over the top!)

LOLWUT? A polo shirt is bad because it's sportswear... and a tee shirt is what exactly?

Also, anyone who pays 87 pounds for a tee shirt deserves to pay 87 pounds for a tee shirt. Christ. It's knit cotton. Perhaps a little better source material. That means it costs 25 cents to make instead of 10.

Also, most people would say that a polo looks better than a tee shirt, presuming both fit well.
