Last night I was watching the film "Swingers" with my college friends when one of them remarked, "Man, those are some great clothes. I wonder where they got 'em." And I gotta agree with him. Now, I'm an experienced thrift shopper like the rest of you, but I've never seen a lot of the stuff from that movie in stores. The stuff looked like it was "new" vintage, if that makes any sense. You know, new stuff based off old designs.

Any ideas?

LAG has some great haunts for vintage in LA, and Mike C. and thc in NYC. Haven't done much with it myself, am saving that for next edition of the book. That may not help you much, depending where you live.

Yeah, I live in the Detroit area, but thank you anyway. I'd love to get out to LA or NYC sometime but have never had the chance.

Well, Mike, I was just in Detroit, and sure could help you with non-vintage shopping if you ever need it.
