i know that one should never wear a complete sweatsuit/tracksuit and have no desire to wear one myself (mobster-looking, trashy, etc.) but is it ok to wear just the top with a pair of brown khakis and brown boots to a morning class in school?

i just threw on this adidas tracksuit top over my t-shirt this morning since i was running late and it was cool but this had nothing to do with the rest of my outfit. acceptable or was i secretly being laughed at the whole time??

It's college. Unless you go to NYU, Sarah Lawrence, or art school half the people are wearing flannel lounge pants, hoodies, and flip flops anyway. Don't worry about it.

I imagine one look around the classroom should answer that question for you.
Anything more presentable than pajamas should put you ahead-of-the-curve. Combing your hair for a morning class is considered downright foppish.

I say this assuming you are a student. If you're the professor, then wrinkled khakis with sneakers and a Cosby sweater is the accepted dress.

the reason i'm concerned is because the full on tracksuit is associated with "wiggers", mobsters, etc. and i'm not sure how closely i skirted that line. a roommate made a joke when i got back from class and that's what alerted me to it.

thanks for the reassurance!

Full sweatsuit's not a big deal. Full tracksuit easily is a bit ******/guido.
