Sweater of the future?

Take a look at this cashmere sweater. A challenging garment to wear. But when high rise trousers were de rigueur, this sweater was too. Note the semi-bateau neckline. Very high style. With trousers having plunged about as low as they can get, is a rise in the future? Will Cary Grant's look, return in all of its debonair splendor? And would you wear this look?

If you had told me he was wearing a skirt, I would've believed you. Check out those pleats!

texas_jack, I wouldn't be surprised to see 'waists' under the armpits, in coming seasons. I like the look in the photo. It's very challenging to wear; flat stomach and presentable backside, are prerequisites.
The Hoff . . . those are mighty luxurious pleats!

BTW, I've been meaning to tell you that I love your sig. I remember when he posted that. I tried reading it and decided that it was impossible sober.

The hole is WAY smaller than a v-neck's, but you still have to get your head through it.

Stazy, I don't see this as a crewneck. It's cut wider than a crewneck, at least to my eye. The challenge to me, is the high waist.

. . . that's my idea of a crewneck.
edmorel, I was delighted that you posted at this thread. We never agree on anything, but so what? Remember, I'm OLD. I have seen many a trend that may have seemed nuts at the time, embraced by young and old, alike. I've seen eighty year old women wear mini skirts, corporate execs wear wide, bell bottom trousers, leisure suits; I've witnessed the beehive hairdo, high heeled shoes for men, etc, etc., etc. Unless ones sticks stubbornly to a hyper-classical stance wardrobe-wise, it's likely that all of us will wear something that was in one day, and out the other.
