trying to settle a little debate here between a friend and myself...if I'm wearing a sweater over a shirt, do I show shirt cuff? My understanding is that you should show a little bit, but friend says you should cover it up with the sweater's cuff.

Also what if I'm wearing a suit? how does the cuff situation work there? This one I'm just confused about

If I were the judge, you would win. Show cuff.

I always show cuff. Not only is it stylish, it prevents wear on the cuffs of the sweater.

With a suit or sport jacket I think it looks a little busy to show three layers at one's wrist, so I usually pull the sweater sleeves back so only the shirt is exposed beyond the jacket's cuff.
Bunching one's sleeves can be annoying, so I suppose a sweater-vest would be preferable for use with a suit or sport jacket

Show cuff when wearing a sweater. It just looks right. Also, I agree with ComboOrgan about the jacket. Altho' if you show enough cuff between the sweater and the shirt, the jacket will usually hide the sweater.

I think it depends on the sweater. If the sweater has clearly defined cuffs, like for example elastic tubes, showing shirt cuff looks contrived. But if the sweaters' arms have a straight end, more like a jacket, show cuff.

Either can look great, it depends on the sweater. Most the time I show a little cuff though. If the sweater cuff is kinda small especially, I think you need to show cuff.

I guess showing 2 cuffs would be a little odd when you're wearing a suit.

I often flip the edges of my FC's around the edge of the sweater and use silk knots to hold the internal folds. Looks tight.

***** and a half to get off though.

Happen to have a pic? This sounds interesting.
