Is there anything else out there like Edward Sexton's cut? Dramatic, structured, flared.

I just don't have $5k CAD to drop on something like this.

Potato pic, but I love 18 East's suit cut. Made up in a floppy linen you can chuck into the washing machine.

Inspired by the 90s Armani silhouettes. Doesn't have the broad, structured shoulders though. To compensate for that, I think they made the jacket relatively snugger.

The bottom of the pants hem is darted to contain the pants from flaring out too much when you walk. @sipang

Well thought out cut/design.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but I've always been curious about Albert Clothing for something relatively affordable in this kind of vein.

The beefy fabric of the last coat with the 3rd coat's cut would be ideal. 3rd coat looks like suiting fabric, too lightweight for Canada.

@FlyingHorker Looks really good. 90s Armani had a lot of softer dropped shoulders in the mix so this would fit right in, I think the tapered hem and balloon leg here is actually an improvement on those original Armani silhouettes with their big floppy leg openings. Great color too.


Never liked that Sexton coat, the really bad kind of costumey to me (unless you're into Regency fashion, steampunk etc). RLPL has definitely made coats like these too though, always worth a check on ebay. But tbh for that kind of dramatic silhouette but with better balanced proportions (what's with those sleeves, seriously) and in beefier cloth, I'd probably first look around for vintage military greatcoats (or maybe something from the Navy so you're not stuck with green/grey). Better yet, check ebay UK for vintage Gieves&Hawkes bespoke coats for Royal Navy/Raf officers

Good point, I didn't notice the skinny sleeves. The price alone was a non-starter.

I knew you'd have better alternatives, thanks man. I'll look around for those options.

I call it proper hat, you can also say classic hat. I mean a Fedora, a Homburg, a Bowler, a Panama Hat...
