SW&D Version: Leaving the US, what do you recommend I should buy that this country does well?

I am leaving the US, and chances are I will not be coming back on a permanent basis.

I have a very specific request/ question for SF members.

Before I leave- which is likely to happen by end August - I want to stock up on SW&D items (clothing, shoes, briefcases). The assumption is that they will be much too expensive to buy when I'm outside the US.

The key is that I want to buy these things that 'fundamentally' and 'essentially' represent the US, and are unique to this country.

For example, I wouldn't buy Edward Green, but I would consider Aldens, yes. Allen Edmonds, also.

Filson. yes. Saddleback Leather, yes.

Makr, yes.

Levis, yes.

And so on.

So if you were to think of the SW&D items that the US does, and does well, what would these be?

Thanks in advance, this is now a serious quest for me.

I have a thread like this for the MC forum, so only need advice on SW&D items here.

You are actually going to stock up on random nice things made in America based on responses to this thread? Why dont you just buy stuff here that you like? Or find something specific you like and ask us about its quality? Thread is weird.

A belt buckle the size of a dinner plate. A 10-gallon hat.

I'm asking for ideas on great quality made in the US products. The assumption being that people have their favorite items which they would share, thus letting me cut down on search time.

I know enough to filter out random stuff. That is the reason I came up with Aldens, Filson, Saddlebag, Makr.

Thanks for the suggestions.
