a few of my own
Spoiler: some old shots with film
Spoiler: digital shots with MF lenses
I've always liked those straps. I carry my camera just on my shoulder (not across) so without the grippiness I fear it'd slip right off with any active movement.
nice shah. like the film ones especially.
maybe i'm getting too nostalgic but there's something about film that just captivates me...
the clouds shot was with Olympus OM-1n (the 1n was last fully manual iteration made before the 2 came with auto something or other) + Rokinon MC, 2.8/28mm
the stairwell and hookah shots with Minolta 7S, Vivitar 55mm UV-HAZE
i also had a ukranian power house med format i liked a lot but it was even less practical. only one place that developed it well (too lazy to do own b&w, color required too many chemicals)
Kiev 88CM, Arsat f2.8/80mm, Hoya HMC 62mm UV(0), Hoya 62mm PL-CIR, Hoya 62mm +4 Close-Up Filter, f2.8/30
i miss playing around in a darkroom
not that I really understand what the word "hipster" means, but this guy was interesting because it was the only tattoo he had and otherwise looked like an exceedingly normal early 20s australian. We thought it a shame he hadn't done the whole left side of his body (his left foot didnt have anything on it) , that'd have been great.
Hey guys, like a few of you I upload my photos to my tumblr.
Here are some I'm proud of (only started this year).
Really enjoyed thatoneguy and gtransistor.
Where's the beach shot you posted from? Totally reminds me of Southern Vic coast.
I wanted to get into some photography more but I don't have a camera, was thinking maybe Sony NEX-6 would that be a good starting point in terms of money/value or are other options? I'm completely new to this. So I'm not really sure how a lense really works in terms of picture quality for the body. Any advice would really help.
you probably shouldn't go for an interchangeable lens system
best advice i ever got was starting with film, learning all i could about what different terms meant in terms of translating into a photo, etc etc., hopefully my pics don't suck too much and reflect something i picked up along the way (metering became instinctive at some point, along with understanding what focal length i wanted in composing a shot blah blah blah)
otherwise anyone can pick up a 3 billion gigapixel dslr and shoot omg super closeup bokeh and make a decent-looking digital pic
