@Mulan The fall-winter 2015-16 season is actually the first time Suspension Point is stocking any Japanese designers. Each of them is bringing their unique viewpoint to our selection and we are excited to share them with you!

Speaking of fall-winter 2015-16...we've just updated our site with the first delivery from Stephan Schneider:

Stephan Schneider’s fall-winter 2015-16 collection, titled “It All Begins With”, is inspired by the classic board game Scrabble. As is typical with Schneider’s work, this season’s motif is most clearly felt in the fabrics themselves. Raised square knit patterns and woven colorblocking are featured prominently. The color palette plays a supporting role and is filled with nuanced, textured neutrals complemented by deep, rich shades of green and navy. While evoking the comfortable, nostalgic feeling of playing a board game with friends on a chilly night the collection remains thoroughly modern.

Jan-Jan Van Essche Project #3 is now available:

For Project #3, titled Wadada (Love in Iyaric), Jan-Jan Van Essche’s thoughtful approach to simplicity continues. Unnecessary seams are eliminated, allowing the garments to move and drape even more naturally. Following this season’s theme, Jan-Jan explores his love of hand-work with an intricate flax rope weave.

Forme D'Expression (Forme 3’3204322896) fall-winter 2015-16 is now available:

Forme D’Expression (also known as Forme 3’3204322896) was founded by designer Koeun Park in 2005 and is based in Perugia, Italy. As a label, Forme D’Expression speaks softly, but possesses strength and elegance in equal measure. This sense of balance makes her work timeless and suitable for any occasion, allowing the wearer to explore and express one’s own individuality. For the construction of the garments themselves, Park’s philosophy is to make sure no corners are cut throughout the entire process. She achieves this by developing the raw materials alongside the weavers, doing the majority of the pattern-making herself, and continuously experimenting with new garment treatments in-house. In Perugia, she lives within a ten minute drive of all the people involved in the realization of her vision.

@Bam!ChairDance - Our first drop from Ffixxed will be online within the next week. We've expanded our selection of designers this season (and we're working on some exciting developments for the store that we hope to be able to announce soon) so it has been challenging getting everything online as quickly as we'd like. In the meantime, you can view the Ffixxed FW15-16 lookbook HERE and contact us if anything catches your eye.

Also...

Our second (and all knitwear) delivery from Stephan Schneider's fall-winter 2015-16 collection is now online:

Ffixxed Studios fall-winter 2015-16 collection is now online:

The Ffixxed fall-winter 2015-16 collection is titled “Interior Landscapes”. It reflects on what it means to be an explorer in contemporary culture, where one is more likely to wander city streets and digital avenues than to trek through forests. The garments themselves offer a fun, comfort oriented twist on menswear classics that are suitable for the outdoors / indoors / wherever.

Even more updates:

1. Suspension Point is pleased to introduce Shinya Kozuka - an exciting, young Japanese designer...

Shinya Kozuka is a Japanese designer who, after graduating from the menswear program at the prestigious Central Saint Martin’s in London, launched his namesake label. As a designer he has quickly established a developed, yet wholly personal aesthetic. Preferring a looser silhouette, Shinya mixes innovative, modern construction techniques with traditional, hand-crafted details.

For fall-winter 2015-16, Shinya Kozuka presents a collection that re-interprets and re-works classic workwear styles through a Japanese lens. The garments are relaxed, with a variety of lengths that play with the proportions of the body. To help bring his vision to life, Shinya uses inventive tailoring and mixes it with laborious, hand-painting techniques.

2. Lemaire Fall-Winter 2015-16 is now online...

The Parisian designer, Christophe Lemaire, designs clothing that he would like to wear himself. He launched his eponymous label in 1991 after having worked alongside such luminaries as Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler, and Christian Lacroix. While continuing to expand his independent company, in 2010 Christophe Lemaire took on the position of artistic director at Hermes women’s ready-to-wear. The collections he produces are imbued with an elegant, quiet sense of luxury that allows one to mix and match according to the mood and moment. The wearer’s wardrobe is timeless yet wholly personal at the same time.

Introducing And Wander. Mountaineering and tech-wear from Japan...

Fresh, clean mountain air is what inspired the beginnings of And Wander, a Japanese mountaineering and tech-wear label launched in 2011 by Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori. Both designers previously honed their skills working for Issey Miyake as an apparel + accessory designer and fabric technologist respectively. And Wander uses high-tech fabrics (developed in-house or in partnership with renowned producers) and purposeful detailing without forgetting about style. Always thoroughly field tested, the garments uncompromisingly combine advanced functionality with fashion forward design.

Update: Stephan Schneider, Bless, and 22/4 Hommes...

1. We are pleased to introduce 22/4 Hommes to our store:

22/4 Hommes is a German label headed by designer Stephanie Hahn (who previously worked closely with ground-breaking minimalist Jil Sander). The name is derived from the simple mathematical equation 2+2=4. It speaks to the importance of technical measurements and proportions in the industry as well as highlighting the designer’s attention to detail. Each collection (both the men’s and women’s lines) starts with menswear classics that are re-interpreted and re-imagined into clean, modern styles with a sly sense of humor. Discreet luxury is what 22/4 Hommes is all about.

Don't sleep on the cashmere hoodcoat y'all, it's super ******* nice. I probably look like a ******* weirdo whenever I wear mine, I end up idly caressing it a lot because it's so goddamn soft.

Oooohhh this is cool

Focus on: The ‘sleeve’. This stole can be worn as a regular scarf, but one side features a three button fastening that allows that side to function as a sleeve.
Can be worn by itself or layered over outerwear.

I wonder if it'd be possible to add this function to a scarf I already have.
(I'm thinking two additional patches sewed on, one with holes and one with the buttons, just gotta figure out some good way to attach them that won't rip the fabric)

Introducing Hiroaki Kanai:

Hiroaki Kanai brings together the rigidity of tailoring, the softness of casual-wear, and the modern techniques of sportswear. Originally from Japan, Hiroaki studied fashion design in the Netherlands, worked with Haider Ackermann, and received his Master’s in Fashion Menswear from the RCA in London (where his namesake label is based). The designer’s diverse cultural references help him realize his aim to always combine craftsmanship with playfulness. The resulting garments are cozy and comfortable to wear, but balanced by the use of military and bondage references.

...

The Stephan Schneider Stole Letter does have some special details to make the sleeve work easily. The shape is angled to narrow so that there isn't overlapping fabric and the closure has a covered placket.

...

@Noctone Glad you are enjoying your Hoodcoat!. It is indeed so soft. The cashmere is substantial and hard-wearing so it so there is no trade-off in terms of function. If I didn't already have a Loden wool version (as well as a flannel wool Hoodjacket) I'd be sorely tempted myself.

...

Stay tuned for more news about promotions and our new showroom space in Montreal. Lots of exciting stuff coming up!
